The Eternal Flame Trail, Orchard Park, NY

For Claudie and Tim, a wintery engagement session was the perfect antithesis to their summertime wedding, and we fully embraced the snow and the cold. We began our session at the Eternal Flame hiking trail, a short five minute drive from Chestnut Ridge State Park. The trail featured mature pine trees to nestle between, as well as fallen logs that made for the perfect perch for seated poses.

Ice Covered Branches

Along the path, we couldn't help but marvel at how beautiful the ice covered the branches along the bare trees. Truly creating a crystal-like appearance, the ice covered trees were enchanting, making for both an ethereal backdrop, as well as remaining neutral enough to let Claudie and Tim shine through as the subjects of these photos.

Natural Light Play

Moving into the heart of the park, we found ourselves at Commissioner's Pond, where the soft winter sunlight played beautifully across the park's features. From delicate sunlit snowflakes to the diluted glow of winter sunshine, the interplay of light added a cozy touch to Claudie and Tim's session.

Cozy Nooks and Intimate Scenes

We sought out cozy nooks amongst the scenes along the Commissioners Pond Trail at Chestnut Ridge State Park. Our favorites were nestled amongst the pine trees, which both showcased the beautiful winter colors, and allowed the sunshine to peak though, making Claudie's engagement ring shine.
